January 2007, the Stanford Research Center released a report called A to Z  Weight   loss  trial. It studied 4 well-known eating plans to study their effects on losing weight. This innovative study followed 311 overweight females who were chosen to use The Atkins Diet, The Zone Diet, the LEARN diet or the Ornish Diet.

At the beginning of the research each of the females were randomly distributed one of the diet books to learn and use.

Remember, these women put in eight hours studying the diet plans accompanied by a registered dietitian prior to when they started. This shows that they fully understood the diet plan and could abide by it if they wanted to. Now think about the average man or woman who purchases one of these diet books.
