Diet to Increase Metabolism - Eat Food and Burn More Fat!

Most are even more skeptical to believe that eating more than normal can be the most beneficial of all.

The reason you need to eat in order to lose weight has to deal with the way metabolism works. Metabolism is the process in which your body uses energy to burn calories. This can lead to weight loss, increased muscle, and additional energy. Your metabolism slows down when you are hungry therefore your body stores more fat and calories to use as energy. In the long run, eating less and slowing down your metabolism actually inhibits weight loss.

To combat a slow metabolism, you should eat five or six small meals a day. This will make sure your metabolism is constantly working, therefore actually burning more calories than if you were going hungry. A good way to jump start your metabolism is to have breakfast. Try to eat a serving of low-fat protein for breakfast, and cut back on the sugars. Your next meals should be every two to three hours throughout the day. Each meal should include some type of protein, as this will help you feel full for longer.

There are a few other tips to try as well. Add high-fiber foods and cut back on alcohol and sugary drinks with increasing water intake. Fresh fruits and veggies are highly preferred over sweets or less nutritious alternatives. Exercise will help increase metabolic rate as well. Try to follow this practice as well: Cut back on calories. Just because you are eating more frequently does not mean to increase calories.
